THE SPIRIT OF THE PLACE

"The Spirit of the Place" consists of a series of paintings of various formats and pictorial techniques, resulting from the artist’s experiences during his many journeys and stays of the last  years.

PORTRAITS

One of the subjects that fascinates PDV is undoubtedly the portrait. Born and educated in Ghent, he had the opportunity to learn about the painting of the Flemish Primitives very closely, which would determine his preferred pictorial technique (gesso, underlying drawing, grisaille and oil glazes).

BACKLIGHT PROJECT

The "Backlight" project " consists of an experiential journey that develops an art that navigates between a lyrical realism and an abstracted realism, taking as its subject forest vegetation pierced by sunlight and transformed into gray scales.
